All of you have probably watched, read or, if nothing else, heard about Harry Potter at least once in their life. Harry Potter is one of the best movie series in the last century and we all feel like his story will always be with us no matter where we go. So here are 15 shocking facts about Harry Potter that you have most probably never heard of.
1. Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) could only take the scene for Fred's death 5 times.
Seeing his brother pretending to be dead was emotionally very hard for him.
2. Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) had a huge crush on Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).
Emma Watson said that he knew and that he literally told everyone that he only saw her in a sisterly way. He broke Emma's heart.
3. Draco Malfoy attended Fred Weasley's funeral, but he stood in the back, being careful not to be seen. As we all know after the battle of Hogwarts Draco changed the way his life was going, married, had a son Scorpius, but raised him very differently than Lucius raised Draco.
Draco thought Scorpius to respect everyone even muggle-borns and half-bloods.
4. Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts, creator of the Chamber of Secrets and Slytherin house at Hogwarts, created his own wand, made of snakewood with a core of basilisk horn.
It is probably not surprising because of the fact that he was cruel and vicious.
5. Jamie Waylett (Crabbe) and Josh Herdman (Goyle), cut their mouths on the hooks which were attached to fishing lines holding up the cupcakes in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
For those who did not know these cupcakes were put there by Ron and Harry, so they can get pieces of Crabbe's and Goyle's hair for the making of the poly juice potion.
6. Each of the wizard chess pieces used in the first movie, Harry Potter, and the philosopher's stone, weighed almost 500 pounds. These wizard chess pieces were used by Ron, Harry, and Hermione for passing one of the challenges so they can get to the philosopher's stone and protect it.
7. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) was not allowed to write his own name and put it in the Goblet of Fire because his writing was too bad.
One of the props guys wrote "Harry Potter" on a piece of paper, for him to put in.
8. The word "Muggle" was added to the Oxford Dictionary on March 24, 2003, as a result of the popularity of Harry Potter. For those who do not know the word "Muggle" means a person who does not have the ability to use magic, or for us, every person that you know of.
9. Gringotts, the bank for all witches and wizards, except keeping the money of every wizard and witch safer than anywhere else in the world, it does an exchange between magical and muggle money.
So if you ever find yourself on the way to buy a wand or a magical potion, feel free to visit Gringotts and exchange your money.
10. Voldemort, the dark lord, is incapable of love because his mother enchanted his father, put him under a love potion when Voldemort was conceived.
So all of this trouble and darkness in Harry Potter would not exist if one girl didn't decide to play with love potions. Keep it in mind girls, don't use a love potion if you plan to make a baby!
11. Severus Snape, professor of Dark Arts at Hogwarts and madly in love with Harry's mother Lily, hated Neville Longbottom so much because if Neville was the chosen one, Lily would have not died.
Now if you think about it, Neville could have been the chosen one and Harry could have a happy life, growing up with his family by his side.
12. The sword of Gryffindor, a sword that only a true Gryffindor can find and use, was an actual real sword. And it was purchased at an auction.
The sword of Gryffindor is the amulet of the house Gryffindor, as all of the houses have their own amulets, the sword of Gryffindor is the only one of them that wasn't defiled with dark magic and turned into a Horcrux. The rest of them are Helga Hufflepuff's cup, Salazar Slytherin's locket, and Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem.
For those of you who did not know a Horcrux is an object in which a dark wizard or which can hide a fragment of his or her soul in order to attain immortality. Lord Voldemort has created seven of those.
13. The main actors, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, were not allowed to play any sport except Golf because it was quite safe.
